ESI is a professional services firm, located in Bethesda, MD, that specializes in serving the Federal Government. Since 1990, ESI has employed culturally diverse, multidisciplinary professional staff with varied backgrounds, skills, and interests, who collaborate across services and disciplines to support our clients. ESI's service lines include communications support, conference management, information center management, logistics support, peer review and grants management, and training and technical assistance. Combined, our service lines offer our clients a fully integrated approach to managing their needs in a variety of content areas. Our expertise is applied to areas such as disaster preparedness and response, HIV/AIDS awareness, behavioral health, early childhood development, and women’s health. Whether we are planning a large conference, creating a marketing campaign, or developing an online peer review system, we strive to serve our clients' needs in every way possible.
Our commitment to service is not limited to the workplace at ESI. Our staff members are actively involved in volunteering their time and resources to charitable and social causes. The passion and concern we embody for social good is reflected in the work we deliver and the people we employ.
To fully embrace our founding principles, ESI began the transfer of ownership to its employees in 2004 through our employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). We believe there is no greater incentive to producing quality work than taking ownership of it. As we like to say at ESI, "employee owned…client driven."
ESI is pleased to have been re-awarded a 5-year contract with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to provide travel, meeting, and event support; communication services; web design and development; and other administrative services. ESI successfully supported more than 400 task orders under the original version of this contract, then called NCATS, for multiple NIH Institutes and Centers and is happy to be able to continue to offer our experienced staff and price-conscious services. The NIHCATS II contract also offers other Federal agencies a mechanism for contracting with ESI for these services.
